What FF Means
FF means the evaporator has frozen over enough that the defrost cycle isn't keeping up — related to DF, but specifically flags that ice has already accumulated to the point of restricting airflow.
Common Causes of FF
- Defrost system (heater, thermostat, or timer) has already failed and frost has built up as a result
- Door seal is letting in warm, humid air faster than the unit can handle
