What CF Means
CF points to the condenser fan motor — the board isn't seeing the fan spin (or spin fast enough) to move air across the condenser coil, which is what actually rejects the heat the compressor pulls out of the cabinet.
Common Causes of CF
- Condenser fan motor has failed or seized
- Fan blade is obstructed by debris
- Fan motor wiring harness connection has failed
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
You can safely check that the condenser coil area (usually behind a lower kick-plate or rear panel) isn't blocked by dust or pet hair, since a coil caked in debris can make the fan struggle even when it's working.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Confirming whether it's the motor itself or just a blocked blade means removing the fan shroud, which is technician work on most cabinet layouts.
