What E5 Means
E5 is closely related to E4 — a power supply problem or voltage error specifically inside the cooktop's own control circuitry, as opposed to E4's broader supply-range flag.
Common Causes of E5
- Internal power supply board has failed
- Internal wiring has a loose or damaged connection carrying line voltage
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
No safe DIY step, same reasoning as E4 — internal power-circuit testing needs the unit opened and live.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Testing a live power-supply circuit inside the unit carries real shock risk without proper equipment and training.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
