What E1 Means
E1 on an induction cooktop is a temperature sensor fault — the board isn't getting a valid reading from the sensor that monitors the induction coil or glass surface temperature.
Common Causes of E1
- Sensor has failed
- Sensor wiring connection has failed
- Control board input circuit has failed
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
There's no safe DIY check — the sensor sits beneath the glass cooktop surface, not accessible without removing the cooktop from the counter cutout.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Reaching the sensor means pulling the cooktop from its countertop cutout, which is not a reasonable DIY step.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
