What SY CE Means
SY CE is a system communication error — an internal module (commonly the dispenser, ice maker, or display) has lost its link to the main control board.
Common Causes of SY CE
- Wiring harness connector between two control modules has come loose or corroded
- One of the two boards in the communication link has failed

A full power-cycle at the breaker is a reasonable first step, since communication faults between boards sometimes clear after a complete reset.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Isolating which of the two ends of the link actually failed means testing each board's output, which needs the unit opened and powered.
