What E5 Means
E5 shows at startup when one or more burners can't be ignited and normal cooking can't begin — a broader startup fault distinct from E1's single-burner ignition failure.

- Startup self-test detected an ignition-related fault across multiple burners
- Control board startup sequence has failed

Power-cycle the unit at the breaker, since a startup-sequence fault sometimes clears on a full reset.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- If a power-cycle doesn't clear E5, the underlying ignition-system fault needs the same diagnosis as an E1 code, across multiple burners.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
