What E1 Means
E1 is a burner ignition failure — the electronic igniter is firing repeatedly but the control board never confirms a flame at that burner.
Common Causes of E1
- Burner cap misaligned or clogged with debris
- Igniter electrode is dirty, cracked, or has failed
- Gas valve for that burner isn't opening
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Check that the burner cap and base are seated correctly and clear of spilled food, since a misaligned cap is a common, owner-fixable cause of ignition failure.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- If a clean, correctly-seated burner still won't ignite, the igniter or gas valve needs technician diagnosis, and gas-valve work isn't a DIY task.
