What E1 Means
E1 is a fan motor current fault — the hood has detected the blower motor drawing more current than its rated threshold and has cut power to protect it.
Common Causes of E1
- Grease-clogged filters restricting airflow
- Blocked or crushed ductwork
- Blower motor has failed or is seizing
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Check that the filters are clean and the ductwork isn't blocked, since a restricted exhaust path makes the motor work harder and can trip this protection.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- If clean filters and clear ductwork don't resolve it, the motor itself needs testing, which is technician work given it runs on its own circuit.
