What CC Means
CC signals the compressor control circuit itself has failed a self-check, not just the compressor — the board has stopped commanding the compressor because it can't confirm the circuit is behaving normally.
Common Causes of CC
- Compressor start relay or capacitor has failed
- Compressor windings have shorted or opened
- Main control board output stage has failed
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
There's no safe DIY step here — the compressor runs on a high-current, high-voltage circuit, and testing it requires the unit opened and partly de-energized.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Diagnosing which of the three (relay, compressor, board) actually failed means testing each in sequence with the unit open and live at some steps.
- Reaching the compressor compartment on a built-in column typically means pulling the unit partway from cabinetry.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
