What E1 Means
E1 is a zone temperature sensor fault — the control board isn't getting a valid reading from the thermistor monitoring one of the storage zones.
Common Causes of E1
- Sensor has failed
- Sensor wiring harness has a loose or damaged connection
- Control board input circuit has failed
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
There's no safe DIY check — the sensor is typically mounted inside the cabinet liner near the zone it monitors, not somewhere meant for owner access.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Confirming which of the three failed means testing sensor resistance directly, which risks further wiring damage without the right tools.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
