What C1 Means
C1 means the dishwasher's leak-detection system has found water where it shouldn't be, in the base pan under the tub, and has shut the cycle down to prevent it reaching your floor.
Common Causes of C1
- Failed door gasket letting water past the seal
- Cracked or loose hose fitting
- Failed water inlet valve
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Turn off the water supply to the dishwasher and don't run another cycle until a technician confirms there's no active leak.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- The base pan sits under the tub and isn't accessible without removing the unit from its cabinet opening, and diagnosing which component is leaking needs the unit run under observation.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
