What TC Means
TC is a general temperature sensor problem distinct from the zone-specific HI/LO alerts — it flags that a sensor reading itself is unreliable, not that the temperature is confirmed out of range.
Common Causes of TC
- Sensor has failed or its reading has drifted out of the valid range
- Sensor wiring connection has failed
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
A full power-cycle at the breaker is worth trying first, since sensor-read problems sometimes clear on reset.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- If a power-cycle doesn't clear it, sensor testing needs the cabinet opened.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.

Code meanings can change between control generations. Before acting on a code, match the full model number on your appliance's rating label against the manual for that model. We are an independent repair service, not affiliated with Haier US Appliance Solutions, Inc.
