What F4 Means
F4 means the oven temperature sensor circuit has shorted, the counterpart fault to F3's open-circuit reading.
Common Causes of F4
- Sensor has shorted internally
- Sensor wiring has shorted against the cavity or another wire
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
There's no safe DIY check, same as F1/F3 — sensor testing means accessing the cavity wiring with the unit de-energized.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Isolating a short in the sensor versus its wiring harness needs a continuity test with the unit open.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
